Each custom case begins as a fully dimensioned engineering drawing. Overall dimensions, corner radii, aluminium frame engagement and trolley travel are locked at this stage — long before the first shell is molded.

02 — 3D Modeling

The Drawing Gains

Flat profiles are extruded into solids — shells, center frame, trolley and wheel housings are generated in sequence, and every assembly relationship is validated before a single tool is cut.

How a Custom Hard-Shell Suitcase Is Made — CLK-8810-20

CLK Luggage is a custom luggage manufacturer producing bespoke hard-shell suitcases and aluminium frame trolley cases on an OEM / ODM basis. The model shown here, the 20-inch CLK-8810-20, is built from 152 individual components and follows the same five-stage route as every case we make.

1. Engineering drawing

The case starts as a fully dimensioned drawing: 349 × 486 mm shell, corner radii, aluminium frame engagement and 290 mm of trolley travel, all held to a ±0.5 mm tolerance.

2. 3D modeling

Profiles are extruded into 164 solids — shells, center frame, trolley and wheel housings generated in sequence, with every assembly relationship validated before tooling.

3. Exploded structure

Front and rear shell — PC + ABS
Center frame — 6063 aluminium
Trolley system — three-stage aluminium, 290 mm travel
Wheel set ×4 — 360° silent TPE casters
Side hardware — zinc alloy, 72 pieces

4. Final assembly

The aluminium frame engages, the zipper closes and the wheels seat: a 3.4 kg case with 38 L of packing capacity.

5. Your case

Color, leather, hardware, lining and silk-screen logo are configured to order, then the approved drawing goes into mass production.
